Athletic Club Boise staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Portland Hearts of Pine 2–1 in USL League One action on Friday night, with Thomas Amang striking deep into stoppage time to seal all three points.

The first half produced no goals, though tensions surfaced near the break when Portland's Kemali Green picked up a yellow card in first-half stoppage time.

Portland broke the deadlock in the 78th minute. Dylan Sing finished from a Matteo Kidd assist to give the Hearts of Pine the lead, and for a stretch it looked like they would hold on to claim the result on the road.

Boise had other ideas. Just five minutes later, Blake Bodily equalized, converting from a Thomas Amang feed in the 83rd minute to pull the hosts level. The final minutes grew increasingly tense — Portland's Michel Poon-Angeron was cautioned in the 89th minute, and both Amang and Nate Miller were booked for Boise in the third minute of added time as tempers flared.

Then came the decisive moment. In the 10th minute of stoppage time, Amang — freshly cautioned just minutes earlier — got on the end of a Tumi Moshobane pass and fired home the winner. The goal capped a remarkable turnaround for Boise, who trailed with fewer than 10 minutes of regulation remaining.

The victory gives Athletic Club Boise crucial points at home and extends what has been a frustrating stretch for Portland, who will wonder how a 78th-minute lead slipped away so late.
