Carolina Ascent FC snatched a dramatic 1–2 victory at Tampa Bay Sun FC on Saturday, with Jillienne Aguilera striking deep in stoppage time to settle a frantic finish. Jenna Butler opened the scoring in the 84th minute, Shea Connors equalized three minutes later for the hosts, and Aguilera completed the comeback in the sixth minute of added time.

The first half produced few fireworks on the scoreboard but plenty of edge in the tackles. Carolina's Shea Groom picked up a yellow card in the 41st minute, setting the tone for a physical contest. The bookings kept coming after the break — Mia Corbin was cautioned in the 52nd minute and Emily Morris followed in the 61st, both for the visitors
