Lexington SC earned a comfortable 0–2 victory on the road against DC Power FC in the USL Super League on Wednesday, with Catherine Barry scoring both goals in the 49th and 87th minutes to seal all three points.

The first half produced little in the way of decisive action, with neither side finding the back of the net before the break. That changed almost immediately after the restart. Barry opened the scoring four minutes into the second half, finishing off a pass from Hannah Johnson to give Lexington the lead.

DC Power pushed for an equalizer but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Lexington picked up a pair of yellow cards in quick succession — Kat Asman cautioned in the 72nd minute and Nicole Vernis two minutes later — suggesting DC Power were applying pressure and Lexington were doing what they needed to slow the game down.

Whatever momentum the home side had built, though, evaporated late. Barry struck again in the 87th minute, converting from a Tatiana Fung delivery to double the advantage and put the result beyond doubt. It was a clinical display from the forward, who took her chances when they mattered most.

DC Power offered little in response during the closing minutes, and Lexington saw the game out without further trouble.

The result gives Lexington SC a valuable three points on the road and leaves DC Power FC searching for answers at home as the season enters its final stretch.
