El Paso Locomotive FC cruised to a dominant 3–0 victory away at Monterey Bay FC on Saturday, with goals from Alex Méndez (21'), Rubio Rubín (51'), and Amando Moreno (53') sealing a comfortable win in the USL Championship.

The first half was a scrappy affair, with Monterey Bay picking up two yellow cards before El Paso even broke the deadlock. Kelsey Egwu was cautioned in the 20th minute, and just sixty seconds later, Méndez punished the hosts, firing home to make it 1–0. Belmar Joseph joined Egwu in the referee's notebook in the 33rd minute as Monterey Bay's frustrations grew. El Paso's Ricky Ruiz also picked up a booking before halftime, but the visitors went into the break with their lead intact and their composure largely unshaken.

The second half turned the match into a rout. Rubín doubled El Paso's advantage in the 51st minute, finishing off a Méndez delivery to make it 2–0. Two minutes later, Moreno added a third, converting from a Rubín pass to effectively end the contest before the hour mark.

Monterey Bay's discipline continued to unravel. Zackery Farnsworth was booked in the 56th minute, and Joel Garcia followed in the 74th. The hosts collected five yellow cards on the night — a reflection of a side that lost its way after falling behind and never found a route back into the game.

El Paso's emphatic road win sends an early statement in the 2026 season, and the attacking chemistry between Méndez, Rubín, and Moreno will give the Locomotive confidence heading into the weeks ahead.
