Hartford Athletic and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC played out a goalless draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with neither side able to find a breakthrough across 90 minutes.

The first half produced little of note in the way of discipline or decisive moments, with both teams heading into the break level and without a booking between them.

Pittsburgh's Eliot Goldthorp picked up the game's first yellow card four minutes into the second half, setting a more combative tone for the remainder of the contest. Hartford followed suit with two bookings of their own in quick succession — an unnamed player cautioned in the 67th minute before Adrian Diz Pe went into the referee's notebook three minutes later. The flurry of cards suggested a tightening, increasingly fractious affair as the match wore on, but neither side could convert that intensity into a goal.

Despite the physical edge that crept into the second half, the game ended without a sending-off, and ultimately without a single goal to separate the two sides.

The point apiece does little to shift the picture for either club, with Hartford and Pittsburgh each adding to their tally without making significant ground in the USL Championship standings.
