Virginia Atlantic FC came from behind enemy lines to claim a 1–2 victory over District Elite FC in NPSL action on Saturday, with E. Perry opening the scoring in the 36th minute and N. Haney adding a second-half strike in the 67th before C. Perry grabbed a late consolation for the hosts in the 89th.

The first half was a scrappy affair. Virginia Atlantic picked up two bookings inside six minutes — B. Agyeman cautioned in the 31st minute, followed by C. Prendergast in the 37th — but sandwiched between those cards was the game's opening goal. E. Perry found the net in the 36th minute to give the visitors a 1–0 lead heading into the break.

District Elite came out needing a response in the second half but couldn't find one quickly enough. Instead, it was Virginia Atlantic who extended their advantage. Haney doubled the lead in the 67th minute, giving the away side a comfortable two-goal cushion with just over 20 minutes to play.

The final minutes grew testy. N. Medina was booked for Virginia Atlantic in the 86th minute as District Elite pushed forward desperately. That pressure eventually told when C. Perry pulled one back in the 89th minute to make it 1–2, briefly raising hopes of a dramatic equalizer. K. Togashi picked up a yellow card for District Elite in the 90th minute as time ran out on the hosts' comeback attempt.

The result gives Virginia Atlantic a valuable road
