Tampa Bay Rowdies earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brooklyn FC on Saturday, with Russell Cicerone and Matt Myers scoring in a decisive four-minute spell midway through the first half.

Brooklyn started the match on level terms but were undone by a quick-fire double that shifted the contest firmly in Tampa Bay's favor. Cicerone opened the scoring in the 29th minute, finishing off a Dion Acoff assist to give the Rowdies the lead. Before Brooklyn could regroup, Myers doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb.

The goals seemed to unsettle both sides. Tempers flared in the closing stages of the first half, with Tampa Bay picking up two bookings in quick succession — one in the 40th minute and another for Sebastian Cruz two minutes later. Brooklyn's Callum Frogson was then cautioned right before the halftime whistle, capping a fractious end to the opening 45 minutes.

Brooklyn came out needing a response after the break but struggled to create meaningful momentum. Vuk Latinovich picked up a yellow card in the 56th minute as frustration crept further into the home side's play. Tampa Bay, content with their cushion, managed the second half effectively and saw the game out without serious threat to their two-goal lead.

The clean sheet away from home will be a confidence boost for the Rowdies as they look to solidify their position in the USL Championship standings, while Brooklyn FC will need to find answers quickly after a disappointing night on home soil.
