West Chester United SC came from an unlikely source to open the scoring and held on for a 2–1 victory over FC Motown in NPSL action on July 11. An own goal from FC Motown's A. Gomaa in the 38th minute gave the hosts the lead, C. Mcgregor doubled the advantage just four minutes later, and R. Robinson pulled one back for Motown in the 65th minute — but it wasn't enough.

The first half was a scrappy, ill-tempered affair. FC Motown picked up two early bookings through G. Zhang in the 22nd minute and J.
