Corpus Christi FC ground out a 1-0 victory at Greenville Triumph SC on Wednesday night in USL League One, with Dominick Bachstein's first-half strike proving the difference in a bad-tempered affair.

The match was fractious from the outset. Greenville's Zane Bubb was booked inside ten minutes, teammate Brandon Fricke followed him into the referee's notebook two minutes later, and Corpus Christi's Arthur Medina picked up a caution of his own in the 20th minute. Blake Bowen joined him on a yellow at the half-hour mark as challenges flew in from both sides.

The decisive moment came in the 36th minute. Bachstein finished off a Tomas Pondeca delivery to put the visitors ahead, and Corpus Christi carried that slim lead into the break.

Greenville pressed for an equalizer in the second half but couldn't find a way through. The game continued to simmer. Parker Vasic was cautioned in the 64th minute for Corpus Christi, and Medina picked up his second booking in the 79th minute. Greenville's Azaad Liadi saw yellow in the 85th minute, Louis Herrera was carded in the 90th, and further bookings for both sides deep into stoppage time capped a night that saw the referee produce ten yellow cards across the two teams.

Despite their territorial efforts late on, Greenville never seriously threatened to level the score, and Corpus Christi held firm to claim all three points on the road.

The result bolsters Corpus Christi's push in the League One standings as the season enters its final stretch, while Greenville will need to regroup quickly after a frustrating night at home.
