Carolina Ascent FC earned a comfortable 2–0 victory away at Brooklyn FC on Sunday, with Mia Corbin at the center of both goals. Corbin opened the scoring in the 21st minute before setting up Sydney Studer for the second in the 71st.

Corbin's opener gave Carolina early control, and the goal seemed to unsettle Brooklyn. Jordan Thompson picked up a yellow card just five minutes later as the hosts struggled to find a foothold. The first half grew increasingly fractious from there — Shea Groom was booked for Carolina in the 40th minute, and teammate Lily Nabet followed her into the referee's notebook four minutes later. Despite the tension, Brooklyn failed to create enough going forward and went into the break trailing.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Brooklyn pressed but couldn't break Carolina down, and the visitors made them pay. Studer doubled the lead in the 71st minute, finishing off a chance created by Corbin, who added the assist to her earlier goal for a standout individual performance.

Brooklyn never looked like mounting a comeback. Two more yellow cards for the home side underlined their frustration as the game wore on, though Carolina managed the closing stages without difficulty. The final whistle confirmed a clean sheet and a deserved three points for the visitors.

The result strengthens Carolina Ascent FC's position in the USL Super League standings and extends a difficult spell for Brooklyn FC, who will need to find answers quickly as the season progresses.
