Indy Eleven edged Detroit City FC 2–1 at home on Saturday in a USL Championship clash decided by goals from Dylan Sing and Bruno Manuel Rendón, with Darren Smith pulling one back for the visitors.

The first half was a patient affair, with neither side finding the net until just before the break. In the 43rd minute, Sing broke the deadlock, finishing from a Bruno Manuel Rendón delivery to give Indy Eleven the lead heading into halftime.

Detroit City came out with renewed urgency after the interval. Smith equalized in the 56th minute, converting off a Kobe Hernández-Foster assist to level the score at 1–1. The response from the visitors was swift and well-timed, but the parity lasted only six minutes.

Rendón, the provider for the opener, turned scorer in the 62nd minute. He found the net with help from Josh O'Brien to restore Indy Eleven's advantage at 2–1. Having set up one goal and buried another, Rendón was the standout performer on the night.

Detroit City pressed for a second equalizer but couldn't find a way through. Alejandro Mitrano picked up a yellow card in the 77th minute as Indy Eleven worked to protect their lead down the stretch. The hosts held firm through the closing stages, seeing out the result without any late scares significant enough to truly threaten the outcome.

The victory gives Indy Eleven an early-season boost in the USL Championship standings and sends a signal that they intend to be competitive on home turf this campaign.
