FC Pride and Gio's Lions SC Chicago played out a 1–1 draw in NPSL action on Wednesday, with early goals from J. Wesseling and Y. Lakhlifi settling the score before halftime. The result was marred by a late red card for Lakhlifi, who went from hero to liability in the space of 55 minutes.

Gio's Lions wasted no time getting on the scoresheet. Wesseling found the net just two minutes in, putting the visitors ahead before FC Pride had a chance to settle. The early deficit forced the hosts to chase the game, and they found their answer through Lakhlifi, who equalized in the 35th minute to make it 1–1.

From there, the match turned scrappy — particularly for FC Pride. Lakhlifi, the goalscorer, picked up a yellow card in the 40th minute, and teammate L. Velazquez was booked three minutes later. The hosts were walking a disciplinary tightrope heading into the break.

The second half failed to produce a breakthrough for either side, though FC Pride's frustration continued to boil over. K. Karabeyaz-Cowling was cautioned in the 85th minute, and the worst was yet to come. In the 90th minute, Lakhlifi received his marching orders — a second yellow ending his afternoon and leaving Pride a man short at the final whistle. I. Umar also picked up a booking in stoppage time as tensions spilled over.

FC Pride collected four yellow cards and a red on the day, a disciplinary record that will concern the coaching staff heading into the next fixture. The point keeps both sides in the mix as the NPSL season continues.
