Birmingham Legion FC and Louisville City FC played out a 1–1 draw on Tuesday night in USL Championship action, with Gevork Diarbian opening the scoring in the 10th minute before Babacar Niang equalized for Louisville just before halftime in the 42nd.

Legion struck first when Diarbian finished from a Serge Ngoma feed to give the hosts an early lead. The goal seemed to settle Birmingham initially, but the match quickly turned fractious. The home side racked up four yellow cards in the span of 10 minutes — Jassem Koleilat in the 23rd, Seth Antwi in the 30th, Ronaldo Damus in the 32nd, and another Birmingham booking a minute later. The discipline problems disrupted any rhythm Legion had built.

Louisville took advantage. Niang, who had himself been cautioned as early as the fourth minute, leveled the score three minutes before the break. The forward latched onto a Quenzi Huerman pass and made no mistake, playing the rest of the match on a booking without putting a foot wrong.

The second half produced fewer flashpoints but no breakthrough for either side. Birmingham picked up yet another yellow through Sebastian Tregarthen in the 82nd minute — their fifth of the evening — while Louisville's Tola Showunmi was booked late on. Neither team could find a winner.

The draw extends a competitive rivalry between two of the league's established sides, with both clubs sharing the spoils in a match that Birmingham will feel they could have controlled had they kept their composure in that chaotic first-half stretch.
