Lexington SC secured a 1-0 victory at Brooklyn FC on Saturday, with McKenzie Weinert's eighth-minute strike proving the difference in a USL Super League clash that grew increasingly ill-tempered as it wore on.

Weinert gave the visitors an early advantage, finishing off a Catherine Barry delivery to put Lexington ahead before Brooklyn had time to settle. It was a clinical start from the away side, and it set the tone for a match in which Brooklyn spent the bulk of the remaining 82 minutes chasing the game.
