Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC held off a furious Las Vegas Lights FC comeback to win 3–2 at home on Saturday in USL Championship action. Levonte Johnson, Jonas Fjeldberg, and Benjamin Ofeimu scored for the Switchbacks, while Abraham Okyere netted twice for Las Vegas in a second half that produced all five goals.

The first hour passed without a breakthrough before Johnson opened the scoring in the 60th minute, finishing off a feed from Yosuke Hanya to give Colorado Springs the lead. Ten minutes later, Fjeldberg doubled the advantage, converting from a Sam Williams delivery to make it 2–0 and seemingly put the hosts in control.

Las Vegas had other ideas. Okyere pulled one back in the 75th minute, heading home — or tapping in — from a Nykolas Sessock assist to cut the deficit in half. Just four minutes later, Okyere struck again, this time unassisted, to level the match at 2–2. A game that had looked comfortable for the Switchbacks was suddenly hanging in the balance.

Colorado Springs needed an answer, and Ofeimu provided it. The Switchbacks forward found the net in the 85th minute to restore the lead at 3–2, and this time the hosts saw it out.

The match was played cleanly throughout, with no yellow or red cards issued to either side — a rarity given the intensity of the final 25 minutes.

The win gives Colorado Springs three valuable early-season points and a confidence boost
