Rhode Island took the lead in the 22nd minute when Williams converted from a Hugo Bacharach feed. Loudoun struggled to respond and picked up a yellow card through Jacob Erlandson in the 35th minute as frustration crept in before the break.

Any hopes of a Loudoun comeback were quickly extinguished. Just three minutes into the second half, Scardina doubled Rhode Island's advantage, finishing off a Williams assist to make it 2–0. Loudoun did pull one back in the 58th minute through Úlfarsson, who connected with a Christian Torres pass to briefly give the home side a lifeline.

It didn't last. The match grew increasingly scrappy through the 60s, with bookings for Bacharach, Arquimides Ordonez, Afonso, and Boluwatife Akinyode arriving in quick succession. Afonso made sure his yellow card was a footnote rather than the headline — he restored Rhode Island's two-goal cushion in the 71st minute, converting from a Noah Fuson assist to put the game beyond reach at 3–1.

Atkinson sealed it late, tapping in from another Williams delivery in the 89th minute to complete the rout. Williams finished the night with a goal and two assists, orchestrating Rhode Island's attack from start to finish.

The emphatic win strengthens Rhode Island FC's push up the standings, while Loudoun face mounting questions after a lopsided home defeat.
