Siouxland United FC claimed a 2-0 away victory over Minnesota Blizzard FC in NPSL action on Wednesday, with both goals coming courtesy of own goals from Minnesota's Y. Urakami in the 11th and 40th minutes.

The match turned sour early. Urakami's first own goal handed Siouxland the lead just 11 minutes in, and the contest quickly became a fractious affair. S. Sakurai picked up a yellow card for Minnesota in the 13th minute, followed a minute later by a booking for Siouxland's P. Zich. The cards kept coming — M. Just was cautioned in the 30th minute, and teammate D. DiGrado followed him into the referee's notebook five minutes later.

Siouxland's discipline issues then cost them a player. Just received a second yellow in the 39th minute and was sent off, reducing the visitors to ten men heading into the final stretch of the first half. It hardly mattered. Just a minute later, Urakami turned the ball into his own net for the second time, doubling Siouxland's advantage in cruel fashion for the hosts.

Minnesota failed to capitalize on their numerical superiority after the break. Despite having an extra man for the entire second half, they could not find a way through. S. Sasaki's late yellow card in the 86th minute summed up a frustrating evening for the Blizzard, who generated little of note going forward.

The result gives Siouxland United a valuable three points on the road and raises serious questions about Minnesota Blizzard's ability to turn their season around.
