Corpus Christi FC held off Chattanooga Red Wolves SC 2–1 on Independence Day in USL League One action, with Jake Keegan and Blake Bowen finding the net either side of an Angelo Kelly-Rosales equalizer.

The hosts wasted no time getting on the board. Keegan struck in just the fourth minute, finishing from a Nacho Abeal feed to give Corpus Christi an early advantage. The Red Wolves responded well, however, and drew level in the 26th minute when Kelly-Rosales converted off a Joshua Ramos assist to make it 1–1 heading toward the break. The first half grew testy late on, with Chattanooga's Matthew Acosta picking up a booking in the 22nd minute before Corpus Christi's Éamon Zayed was cautioned just before halftime.

The second half settled into a grind. Arthur Medina was booked in the 65th minute for Corpus Christi, and Sam Roscoe-Byrne followed him into the referee's notebook in the 78th minute as the home side racked up cautions. But three minutes after Roscoe-Byrne's yellow, Bowen broke the deadlock. He latched onto a Javier Mariona delivery in the 81st minute to restore Corpus Christi's lead at 2–1.

Chattanooga pushed for another equalizer but couldn't find one. The final minutes were scrappy — Enock Kwakwa picked up Corpus Christi's fourth yellow of the second half in the 89th minute, and both sides saw players cautioned deep into stoppage time.

The result gives Corpus Christi FC a valuable three points at home as the season pushes past its midway mark.
