Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC edged Charleston Battery 2–1 at home on Friday night, with Jonas Fjeldberg striking deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points. Adrien Pérez opened the scoring in the 56th minute, Wilmer Cabrera equalized for Charleston in the 81st, and Fjeldberg sealed the win in the 90+5th minute.

The first half was a largely uneventful affair, at least by the scoresheet. Charleston's Graham Smith picked up an early yellow card in the 13th minute, but neither side managed to break the deadlock before the interval.

Colorado Springs came out sharper after the break. Pérez found the net in the 56th minute to give the Switchbacks a deserved lead, and the hosts looked comfortable for much of the second half. That changed when Cabrera pulled Charleston level with nine minutes remaining, finishing from a Jeremy Kelly delivery to make it 1–1.

The equalizer seemed to rattle Colorado Springs momentarily, and the match grew testy. Isaiah Foster was booked in the 78th minute for the Switchbacks, while Charleston's Kirill Pakhomov went into the referee's notebook in the 85th.

Just when the game appeared destined to end level, Fjeldberg latched onto a pass from Steven Echeverria and fired home in the fifth minute of added time to restore Colorado Springs' lead. Charleston's Maalique Foster was cautioned moments later as frustration boiled over, and the Switchbacks held on for a dramatic victory.

The late winner gives Colorado Springs valuable points in the USL Championship standings and extends what has been a strong run of home form for the Switchbacks this season.
