FC Tulsa and Lexington SC played out a goalless draw in a fractious USL Championship clash on Friday night, a match defined far more by the referee's notebook than by anything produced in the final third.

The tone was set early. Just five minutes in, both Abdoulaye Cissoko of FC Tulsa and Lexington's Phillip Goodrum were cautioned, and the game never calmed down from there. Logan Dorsey picked up Tulsa's second booking in the 11th minute before Nicolas Firmino joined Lexington's growing list of offenders five minutes later. By the half-hour mark, the referee had shown four more yellows — Lamar Batista and Lucas Stauffer both cautioned in the 30th minute for Tulsa, with Xavier Zengue booked for Lexington at 36'.

The second half offered little reprieve. Luke Spencer was shown a yellow in the 53rd minute, giving FC Tulsa five cautions for the evening. Lexington matched them card for card, with Tarik Scott booked in the 67th minute and Malik Henry-Scott following in the 84th. Aaron Molloy rounded out the tally deep in stoppage time, bringing the total to 11 yellow cards across the 90 minutes — a remarkable figure given that neither side received a red.

Between all the stoppages and confrontations, neither team managed to find a breakthrough. The draw does little for either side's ambitions, with both clubs dropping two points in what shaped up as a contest where competitive edge repeatedly crossed into recklessness.
