Bristol Rhythm AFC edged past 865 Alliance 1–0 in NPSL action on Tuesday, decided by a K. Slinn own goal in the 66th minute that proved the only breakthrough in an otherwise tightly contested affair.

The first half was a scrappy one. J. Quigley picked up Bristol Rhythm's first yellow card in the 16th minute, and 865 Alliance's J. Gracia was booked right before the halftime whistle at the 45th mark. Neither side managed to find the net before the break.

The second half brought more cards and, eventually, a decisive moment. E. Edwards was cautioned in the 58th minute as 865 Alliance's discipline continued to fray. Then, in the 66th minute, Slinn turned the ball into his own net to hand Bristol Rhythm the lead. The goal sparked frustration from the visitors — L. Schofield was booked two minutes later, and P. Enchill followed him into the referee's notebook in the 69th minute. Four yellow cards for 865 Alliance across the match painted a picture of a side struggling to contain both their opponents and their composure.

Bristol Rhythm's S. Mendez Sabillon picked up a yellow in the 80th minute as the home side looked to manage the closing stages, but they held firm without serious alarm to see out the clean sheet.

The six yellow cards spread across the 90 minutes underlined the intensity of a match that lacked quality in front of goal but never lacked bite.
