Sporting JAX survived a second-half fightback from Carolina Ascent FC to win 4–3 on the road in a seven-goal USL Super League contest on Sunday. Ashlyn Puerta scored a first-half hat trick to put the visitors in command, but Mackenzie George's brace kept Carolina in the hunt before Paige Kenton's goal proved the difference.
Puerta needed just 10 minutes to open the scoring, finishing off a Kenton delivery to give Sporting JAX an early lead. She doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute, this time unassisted, and completed her hat trick in the 31st with a goal set up by Sophia Boman. Carolina were chasing shadows, and the booking count reflected their frustration — Brianna Martínez was cautioned in the 14th minute as the hosts struggled to contain Puerta.
