Charleston Battery dismantled Sporting JAX 5–2 on the road Saturday, with Miguel Berry bagging a brace and Maalique Foster, Jeremy Kelly, and Alec Hughes also finding the net. Wan Kuzain scored both goals for the hosts, but it was never enough to stem the tide.

Charleston came out swinging early. Foster opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and just two minutes later Kelly doubled the lead, finishing off a Miguel Berry delivery. Berry then got on the scoresheet himself in the 19th minute, converting from a Colton Swan assist to make it 3–0 before the first half was even a quarter old. Sporting JAX looked shell-shocked.

The hosts finally responded just before the break. Wan Kuzain pulled one back in the 44th minute, steering home a Tyshawn Rose pass, then struck again two minutes into the second half — this time set up by Emil Jääskeläinen — to cut the deficit to 3–2. For a brief moment, momentum had shifted.

Charleston steadied themselves quickly. Berry restored the three-goal cushion in the 53rd minute, latching onto a Wilmer Cabrera feed to complete his brace and effectively kill the contest. Frustration crept into the Sporting JAX side after that — Jordan Rossiter and Ryan Edwards picked up yellows in quick succession, and Jääskeläinen was booked in the 71st minute. Edwards collected a second yellow in the 81st minute but avoided a sending off, as no red card was issued.

Hughes capped the rout a minute later, slotting home Charleston's fifth to seal a comprehensive away victory.

The result strengthens Charleston Battery's position in the USL Championship standings and leaves Sporting JAX with serious questions to answer defensively.
