Tampa Bay Sun FC came from behind — or rather, stayed ahead — to beat Dallas Trinity FC 2–1 on the road Tuesday night in USL Super League action. Sabrina McNeill opened the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute, Amber Brooks equalized for Dallas in the 76th, and Carlee Giammona struck the winner for Tampa Bay with five minutes left.

Tampa Bay took control early in the second half-hour when McNeill finished from a Faith Webber assist to make it 1–0. The goal settled the Sun, who managed the remainder of the first half without major trouble despite Wayny Balata picking up a yellow card for Dallas in the 33rd minute.

The second half brought a shift in momentum. Dallas Trinity pushed forward with increasing urgency, and the pressure eventually told when Brooks found the net in the 76th minute to level the score. At that point, Tampa Bay had already collected bookings through Jillian Shimkin in the 62nd minute and Jordan Zade in the 72nd, and the visitors looked like a side under siege.

But the equalizer's shelf life was short. Just nine minutes after Brooks had pulled Dallas level, Giammona restored Tampa Bay's lead in the 85th minute. It was a gut punch for the home side, who had built all that second-half momentum only to concede again late. Jordyn Listro was booked deep in stoppage time as Tampa Bay saw out the final minutes.

The result gives Tampa Bay Sun FC a valuable three points on the road and leaves Dallas Trinity FC searching for answers after failing to hold onto a hard-earned equalizer at home.
