Detroit City FC and Hartford Athletic played out a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with both goals arriving deep into stoppage time. Maximiliano Rodríguez broke the deadlock in the 90+4' minute for Detroit, but Augustine Williams equalized for Hartford just six minutes later in the 90+10' to steal a point on the road.

For the vast majority of the match, neither side could find a breakthrough. The first half produced more cards than clear-cut chances, with Hartford's Michael Adedokun picking up a booking in the 38th minute. Brendan Burke followed him into the referee's notebook early in the second half, cautioned in the 49th minute.

Detroit's Devon Amoo-Mensah was shown yellow in the 77th minute as the game grew increasingly tense and stretched. What had looked destined to end goalless suddenly burst into life in added time.

Rodríguez found the net in the 94th minute to send the home crowd into a frenzy. Detroit appeared set to claim all three points, and the celebrations were still raw when Kian Williams picked up a yellow card moments later in the 93rd minute of stoppage time. But Hartford refused to fold. Williams — Augustine, not Kian — drove the equalizer home in the 100th minute to silence the home faithful and rescue a share of the spoils.

It was the kind of ending that will haunt Detroit, who turned a stoppage-time winner into a single point within a matter of minutes. For Hartford, the late leveler could prove invaluable as both clubs jostle for position in the second half of the season.
