Athletic Club Boise ground out a 1–0 home victory over Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday, with Joshua Yaro's early strike proving the difference in a combative USL League One clash.
Yaro opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finishing from a Jesús Barea delivery to give Boise the lead. It was a fast start that the hosts would desperately need, given what followed.
Boise midfielder Nate Miller was booked in the 20th minute, then picked up a second yellow just a minute later, leaving Athletic Club to play the remaining 70-plus minutes with ten men. Rather than buckle, Boise dug in. Greenville pressed for an equalizer but struggled to break through a side that clearly prioritized defensive shape after the dismissal.
The match grew increasingly scrappy. Greenville's Rodrigo Robles was cautioned in the 34th minute, and Barea joined Miller in the book before halftime. Boise continued to collect cards in the second half — Jonathan Kliewer was booked on 55 minutes and Jonathan Ricketts followed in the 66th — but the hosts avoided any further dismissals and kept their slim lead intact.
Greenville pushed late, with Louis Herrera picking up a yellow deep into stoppage time, but the Triumph could not find a way through. The final whistle confirmed a resolute defensive performance from Boise, who turned one moment of quality and seventy minutes of stubbornness into three points.
The result keeps Athletic Club Boise in the hunt during the business end of the USL League One season, while Greenville will rue their inability to capitalize on a prolonged numerical advantage.
