Santa Cruz FC edged OSNER'S FC 1–0 in NPSL action on Saturday, with A. Santos of OSNER'S FC putting the ball into his own net in the 85th minute to decide a tight contest.

The first half produced little in the way of decisive moments. Neither side managed to break the deadlock through 45 minutes, and the only notable incident before the break was a yellow card shown to Santa Cruz FC's P. Kabulu in the 49th minute, just after the restart.

From there, the match ground on without a goal, both teams unable to find a breakthrough as the clock ticked deeper into the second half. It looked destined for a draw until the 85th minute, when Santos turned the ball into his own goal to hand Santa Cruz FC an unlikely lead. It was a cruel way for OSNER'S FC to concede, especially so late in a game they had kept level for so long.

OSNER'S FC had little time to respond. The remaining minutes offered no reprieve, and Santa Cruz FC held on to claim all three points without ever truly needing to force the issue themselves.

The result gives Santa Cruz FC a valuable win in the NPSL standings, while OSNER'S FC will be left to rue a self-inflicted wound that turned a hard-fought point into nothing.
