Spokane Velocity FC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC played out a 1-1 draw in USL Championship action on Wednesday night, with Luis Gil and Jonas Fjeldberg trading first-half goals.

Spokane took the lead in the 14th minute through Gil, who gave the home side an early advantage. The lead lasted just 16 minutes. Fjeldberg equalized for Colorado Springs in the 30th minute, finishing off a Sam Williams assist to level the contest before halftime.

The second half produced no breakthrough for either side despite what became an increasingly testy affair. Spokane's Jack Denton had already been cautioned in the 43rd minute, and teammate Leigh Veidman picked up a yellow card
