Las Vegas Lights FC ground out a 1-0 victory away at Miami FC on Saturday night, with Manuel Arteaga's first-half strike proving the difference in a scrappy USL Championship affair.

The opening half hour passed without a breakthrough before Arteaga found the net in the 34th minute, finishing off a pass from Christian Pinzon to give the visitors the lead. It was a goal Miami FC struggled to answer for the remainder of the match.

The second half grew increasingly fractious. Arteaga, already the game's central figure, picked up a yellow card in the 61st minute — a booking that forced the goalscorer to tread carefully for the final half hour. Las Vegas teammate Giorgio Probo followed him into the referee's notebook in the 76th minute, and Riyon Tori was cautioned for Miami in the 84th. Blake Pope added a third Las Vegas yellow in the 87th minute, capping a tetchy closing stretch that saw the visitors collect three bookings in under 30 minutes.

Despite the mounting cards and the pressure that comes with defending a slim lead on the road, Las Vegas held firm. Miami FC pushed but never found the equalizer, unable to capitalize on the disciplinary trouble piling up against the Lights.

The result hands Las Vegas Lights FC a valuable three points on the road and leaves Miami FC searching for answers after a frustrating night at home.
