Westchester SC came from behind to beat Union Omaha 2–1 in USL League One action on Saturday, with Daniel Burko providing both assists in a first-half comeback. Sergio Ors opened the scoring early for the visitors, but goals from Koen Blommestijn and Conor McGlynn turned the match on its head before halftime.
Union Omaha struck first in the fourth minute. Allen Gavilanes picked out Ors, who made no mistake to give his side an early advantage. For the next 25 minutes, Westchester chased the game.
The hosts found their equalizer in the 30th minute when Blommestijn finished from a Burko delivery to level the score at 1–1. Burko was the architect again just before the break, setting up McGlynn in the 44th minute to complete the turnaround and send Westchester into halftime with a 2–1 lead.
The second half produced no goals but plenty of tension. Ors, who had given Union Omaha the lead, was booked in the 64th minute. Blommestijn, Westchester's equalizer, picked up a yellow of his own five minutes later. The cards kept coming as the match wore on — Kempes Waldemar Tekiela, Vincenzo Candela, and Maximus Jennings were all cautioned in a scrappy final stretch, with further bookings deep into stoppage time for both sides.
Despite the late pressure, Westchester held firm to claim all three points. The victory gives Westchester SC a valuable home win as the USL League One season enters its closing stages.
