Spokane Velocity came from behind to beat AV ALTA FC 3–1 at home on Tuesday, with goals from Andrew Booth (45'), Shavon John-Brown (55'), and Nil Vinyals (90+3') completing the turnaround after Osvaldo Lay had given the visitors an early lead in the seventh minute.

AV ALTA FC started brightly. Lay finished off a move started by Cesar Bahena Jr. to put his side ahead with barely seven minutes on the clock, and for much of the first half the visitors looked comfortable defending that advantage. Spokane kept pressing, though, and found their equalizer right on the stroke of halftime when Booth struck to make it 1–1 heading into the break.

Whatever was said at the interval clearly unsettled AV ALTA FC. Adam Aoumaich was booked within a minute of the restart, and the visitors' discipline continued to unravel from there. On 55 minutes, John-Brown put Spokane ahead for the first time, converting from a Jack Denton delivery, and moments later Collin Anderson picked up another yellow for the away side. AV ALTA FC collected four bookings in total across the second half — Miguel Pajaro and Brian Kleiban joining the list — as frustration visibly set in.

Spokane managed the closing stages well and put the result beyond doubt deep into stoppage time when Vinyals latched onto a Neco Brett pass to slot home the third.

The convincing second-half display gives Spokane Velocity early-season momentum in USL League One and sends a clear message that ONE Arena is a difficult place to visit.
