One Knoxville SC cruised to a comprehensive 3-0 victory at New York Cosmos on Saturday, with Denis Krioutchenkov, Eli Conway, and Babacar Diene all finding the net in a dominant away performance.
The visitors wasted no time asserting themselves. Krioutchenkov opened the scoring in just the sixth minute, finishing from a Nicola Rosamilia delivery to put One Knoxville ahead early. The Cosmos struggled to respond and picked up bookings through Justin Milovanov in the 23rd minute and Nicholas Mendonca just before halftime, signs of a side growing increasingly frustrated.
The second half followed a similar pattern. One Knoxville had to deal with yellow cards of their own — Stavros Zarokostas and Rosamilia were cautioned within three minutes of each other — but the visitors never lost control of the contest. Conway doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, converting from a Krioutchenkov pass to effectively kill the game as a contest.
The Cosmos grew more desperate as the clock wound down. Sergio Chavez was booked in the 79th minute, and Milovanov picked up his second yellow of the match in the 89th minute. Conway also saw yellow in between, though it mattered little with One Knoxville firmly in command.
Diene added a third deep in stoppage time, heading home — or finishing — from a Mikkel Gøling assist in the 90th-plus-four mark to complete the rout.
The convincing road win strengthens One Knoxville SC's position in the USL League One standings as the season enters its final stretch.
