Spokane Velocity cruised past Richmond Kickers 3–1 at home on Saturday, with goals from Medgy Alexandre, Jack Denton, and Shavon John-Brown securing a comfortable USL League One victory.

Velocity wasted no time taking control. Alexandre opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finishing off a pass from Lucky Onyebuchi Opara to give the hosts an early lead. Five minutes later, Denton doubled the advantage, making it 2–0 before Richmond had time to settle.

The Kickers did pull one back before halftime. Tarik Pannholzer found the net in the 34th minute to cut the deficit in half and give Richmond a lifeline heading into the break. At 2–1, there was at least a question of whether the visitors could mount a second-half comeback.

That question didn't linger long. Shavon John-Brown restored Spokane's two-goal cushion in the 57th minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt. Richmond never seriously threatened an equalizer from that point on.

Spokane picked up a pair of yellow cards — Joe Gallardo in the 54th minute and Collin Fernandez in the 79th — but neither disrupted the flow of a match the hosts had well in hand. No red cards were shown.

The win gives Spokane Velocity early-season momentum in USL League One, and with a performance this clinical in front of their home supporters, they will feel confident about the matches ahead.
