Tampa Bay started the brighter of the two sides and got their reward midway through the first half. Fusco found the net to give Sun FC the lead, and the hosts carried that advantage into the break looking relatively comfortable.

The second half brought a shift in momentum. DC Power came out with more urgency, though Hannah Richardson picked up a yellow card in the 49th minute — an early sign of the away side's increased intensity. That aggressive approach paid off on the hour mark when Constant pulled Power FC level, finishing to make it 1–1 and give the visitors a foothold in a game that had been slipping away from them.

Tampa Bay pushed for a winner in the final stretch but couldn't find one. Jordyn Listro was cautioned in the 78th minute as the match grew scrappy in its closing stages. Neither side managed to create a decisive moment in the time remaining, and the points were shared.

The draw leaves both teams searching for the kind of consistency that wins in this league — a single point when three were there for the taking rarely satisfies either camp heading into the back half of the season.
