Fort Wayne FC edged Westchester SC 1–0 at home on Friday night in USL League One, with Taig Healy's first-half strike proving the difference.

The opening half hour passed without a breakthrough, but Fort Wayne found the opener in the 35th minute when Healy finished from a Michael Rempel delivery to give the hosts the lead. The goal seemed to spark a physical response from both sides — Daniel Oyetunde picked up a yellow card just a minute later, setting the tone for a scrappy remainder of the match.

The second half followed that pattern. Jeremy Garay was booked in the 52nd minute for Fort Wayne, and Westchester's Maximus Jennings joined him in the referee's notebook a minute later. The cautions kept coming. Healy, already the match-winner, was shown a yellow in the 67th minute, while Westchester's Daniel Bouman was cautioned in the 79th minute. Five yellows across the 90 minutes — three of them to Fort Wayne players — painted a picture of a contest that grew increasingly fractious as Westchester chased an equalizer.

That equalizer never came. Fort Wayne managed the game well enough after the break to preserve their slender advantage, and Westchester ultimately lacked the cutting edge to break through.

The three points give Fort Wayne FC a valuable home win as the League One season pushes deeper into the spring stretch, keeping them in the conversation as the table begins to take shape.
