Tampa Bay Rowdies and Oakland Roots SC played out a 2–2 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with all four goals coming inside the first 52 minutes. Marco Micaletto, Russell Cicerone, Charlie Ostrem, and Wolfgang Prentice all found the net in a back-and-forth affair that neither side could ultimately settle.

The Rowdies came out fast. Micaletto opened the scoring in just the third minute, giving the home side an early advantage. Oakland responded well, though, and needed less than ten minutes to pull level. Ostrem equalized in the 12th minute to make it 1–1 heading into the break's approach.

The second half picked up right where the first left off. Prentice put Oakland ahead in the 49th minute, finishing from a Faysal Bettache delivery to give the visitors their first lead of the night. Tampa Bay's response was swift. Just three minutes later, Cicerone leveled things at 2–2, converting off a pass from Dion Acoff.

From there, the game settled into a tighter contest. Neither team could find a winner despite more than 35 minutes of remaining play. Max Schneider picked up a yellow card for Tampa Bay in the 90th minute as tensions rose late, but the scoreline held.

The point apiece keeps both clubs in the early-season mix in the USL Championship standings, though neither will be fully satisfied after holding a lead and failing to see it through.
