San Antonio FC and FC Tulsa played out a goalless draw at home on Saturday night in a USL Championship clash that grew increasingly fractious as the second half wore on.

Neither side managed to find a breakthrough across 90 minutes, though the match was far from uneventful. FC Tulsa set an early tone of physicality when Jeorgio Kocevski was booked in the 29th minute, and Ian followed into the referee's notebook just before halftime.

The second half brought more of the same from Tulsa. Abdoulaye Cissoko picked up a yellow in the 52nd minute, and San Antonio's Christian Sorto was cautioned five minutes later in what was the home side's only booking of the night. The contrast in discipline told its own story.

Tulsa's card count spiraled in the closing stages. Jamie Webber was booked in the 89th minute before both Stefan Lukic and Arquimides Ordonez saw yellow in the 90th. Six cautions for one team in a single match pointed to a side either losing its composure or resorting to tactical fouling to preserve a point on the road. Either way, Tulsa will count themselves fortunate to have finished with eleven on the pitch.

San Antonio, meanwhile, will be frustrated at failing to capitalize on their disciplinary advantage. A home side facing an opponent collecting cards at that rate would typically expect to create — and convert — enough chances to take all three points.

The draw leaves both teams sharing the spoils in a result that does little to shift the momentum for either side as the stretch run of the USL Championship season approaches.
