Rhode Island FC cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory away at Sporting JAX on Saturday night in USL Championship action, with goals from Yutaro Tsukada, Stas Kornzeniowski, and Jojea Kwizera sealing a dominant road performance.

The first half was largely controlled by the visitors. Frank Nodarse picked up an early booking in the 30th minute, but that did little to slow Rhode Island's momentum. Eight minutes later, Tsukada opened the scoring, finishing off a delivery from Leonardo Afonso to give his side a deserved lead heading into the break.

Sporting JAX needed a response in the second half but never found one. Kornzeniowski doubled Rhode Island's advantage in the 63rd minute, converting from a Noah Fuson assist to effectively put the game out of reach. The goal sparked a tetchy final stretch — Amos Shapiro-Thompson was cautioned just a minute later, and Fuson followed into the book in the 80th minute. Jean Mota picked up a yellow for Sporting JAX in the 88th minute, with Kornzeniowski also booked in the same minute as frustrations boiled over on both sides late on.

Still, Rhode Island had the final say. Kwizera added a third in the 90th minute to complete the rout and rubber-stamp a thoroughly convincing away display.

Sporting JAX offered little going forward all evening, rarely threatening to get back into the contest after falling behind. The hosts will need to regroup quickly.

The result strengthens Rhode Island FC's position in the USL Championship standings and extends what has been an impressive run of form on the road.
